WHY LEARN BRIDGE?
Bridge is a fun, competitive, social card game played by millions around the world, ranging from social players through to international and professional levels.
It doesn't take much to understand the basics and start playing, but you'll soon find there's always something new to learn, new nuances, and new techniques...
This is what makes Bridge the best card game in the world! You may get hooked - and have been warned :-)
Learning bridge is like learning a musical instrument. It doesn’t take long to explain the essentials but perfecting your bidding systems and card play can take a lifetime. When you bid with your partner at the start of a game, it’s like you are speaking a special language. Lots of simple counting is involved. When you get it right, it feels incredible.

LEARNING BRIDGE AT KARORI CLUB
Our 12 lesson beginners’ course is suitable for people of all levels from age 11 to 111 - if you have never played cards before, are a seasoned 500 player, or maybe you have played bridge a while ago and just needs a refresher. You will get to know our friendly mentors during this time. Once the lessons are over, there will be 4 practice sessions where you will play with an experienced mentor. From here you will be ready for play in the B-Grade on Thursday nights. The B-grade players are very welcoming, and you will be allowed to look at your learner’s cheat sheet for as long as you need.  We will pair you up with friendly experienced partners when you start on Thursday nights.
- Our next beginner lessons course starts 24 Feb. Lessons run on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30pm
- Each session includes a new lesson, followed by practice play
- Notes & You-tube videos are provided for review/missed lessons
- $60 for the full course (deductible from club membership subs)
